Two police personnel have been killed and another one seriously injured by gunmen on motorcycles in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province while they were en route for providing security to polio vaccination campaign. This was in the wake of abduction of four other security men who were accompanying vaccine teams, one day ago in the same area. While there has been no claim of responsibility from anyone, militant groups opposing polio vaccination campaign including Pakistani Taliban (TTP) attack polio campaigners in light of conspiracy theories of Western interference. This is in light of a campaign against 24 million children in 97 districts of Pakistan since the detection of eighth case of polio in the country.
